GamerDVR.com community for all the clips and screenshots enthusiasts
Gamer DVR has been the web home for Xbox game captures since 2014. Every clip and screenshot an Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One records goes to Xbox Live, and Gamer DVR reads them from there and gives them a page worth sharing: full-size screenshots, clips that play in the browser, filters by game and date, downloads, and a profile for any gamertag. The site holds over 200 million clips and 30 million screenshots across more than 10 million gamertags.
This app brings that to Discord. Two slash commands put a gamer's newest captures in your channel, and the newest one plays right there.
/clips gamertag — the newest clips a gamer recorded on Xbox, straight from Xbox Live.
/screenshots gamertag — the same for screenshots.
Both take an optional count from 1 to 5 (3 if you leave it out).
Each answer names the gamer with a link to their profile, then lists the captures newest first with the game, the clip's title or the screenshot's caption, and how long ago it was recorded. The newest one is a plain link, so Discord unfurls it into a playable clip or a full picture. The rest sit under it as links that don't unfurl, so one player per answer keeps the channel tidy.
Examples:
/clips NightSurgeX2 — their three newest clips/clips NightSurgeX2 count:5 — their five newest/screenshots NightSurgeX2 count:1 — just the latest screenshotThe commands answer for any gamertag that has a Gamer DVR account. Making one takes a minute: sign in with your Xbox account at https://gamerdvr.com and your whole capture history shows up. No password to remember, nothing to upload.
Ask about a gamertag without an account and only you see the reply, with a note on how they can make one. Ask about a gamer who set their profile to private and you get a private note too: their captures stay theirs.
Add Gamer DVR to a server and everyone there can use the commands. Or install it to your own account and use /clips in any server you belong to, and in your DMs, without asking an admin for anything.
Either way, nothing joins your server. There is no bot user, the app asks for no permissions, and it cannot read your messages. It only ever sees the command you ran and the gamertag you typed.
Gamer DVR reads captures from Xbox Live the same way the Xbox app does, and shows only what Xbox Live already makes public. Anyone can set their Gamer DVR profile to private for free, and the commands respect it. The app stores nothing about your server beyond a count of how often the commands are used.
