Static's a self-hosted music bot built to actually work reliably, without any premium tiers or locked commands. It runs on a private home server, so there's no corporate backend, no data getting sold, nothing weird going on behind the scenes.

It plays from YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud; just paste a link, and it figures out the rest, playlists and all. The now-playing card is probably the standout feature; it actually updates live with a real progress bar instead of just sitting there static (no pun intended), and you can pause, skip, save the song, dedicate it to someone, pull up lyrics, or start a vote to skip, right from that card.

It supports both slash commands and the classic ! prefix, so use whichever you're used to. When it joins your server for the first time, it walks you through setup instead of just dumping you into a help menu and hoping you figure it out.

There's also a web dashboard where you can log in with Discord and control the queue, skip songs, or request something to play without even opening Discord — handy if you just want to add a song real quick.

And yeah, there's a few dumb commands in there too !rickroll, !fivegum, because it doesn't need to be all business all the time.

No data logging, nothing stored beyond what's needed to keep the queue running, and the queue itself disappears the second it leaves voice.
