Rising Horizons

This is primarily a debate server, but I'm looking for a variety of people, not just debaters. Whether you enjoy discussing theology, philosophy, science, politics, history, current events, or just having thoughtful conversations, there's a place for you here. You don't have to be an experienced debater to participate. Good discussions are just as valuable as formal debates.

The rules are intentionally minimal. As long as what you're doing isn't illegal, it's generally tolerated. That said, don't be obnoxious, spam, or go out of your way to ruin the experience for everyone else. Common sense goes a long way here, and if you repeatedly cause problems, don't be surprised if there are consequences.

I'd also like this server to function as a bit of a chess club. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, you can find people to play against, analyze games with, or simply improve alongside. If enough people are interested, we'll also organize casual tournaments and other chess-related events.

Beyond debate and chess, we have a variety of voice and text channels for video games, hobbies, memes, media, and just hanging out. The goal is to build a community where people can have serious discussions one moment and relax with friends the next. We also host community events from time to time, so there's usually something going on.
