Counter Blox features 5v5 team-based firefights across maps set in locations around the globe. Teams battle through varied environments, with success tied to eliminating opponents and playing the objectives.

Each match uses an in-match economy. Eliminations and objective play earn money, which can be spent at the start of each round on weapons, gear, and grenades. The visual style uses block-shaped characters and detailed tactical equipment, including helmets, goggles, body armor, and rifles, set against rugged environments.
