Cloudbreach

From its beginning, Algaro has been shaped by a relentless ideological war between magic vs. technology. Driven by their superstition, the mages of Galdrend subjugated the world under their tyrannical thumb. The inventive and rebellious Rimalhians mounted multiple attempts to break free, while the spiritual Kazurians were embroiled in their own inner conflicts in their island archipelago. In an effort to further seize the world, the mages of the Galdrian Empire unleashed a magical catastrophe called the Great Scourge which nearly shattered the world. International condemnation ensued, and the Galdrian Empire's grasp began to slip

Now, in 1527, more than a hundred years after the Scourge, Rimalhia has declared a new independent Republic, while the Kazurian Alliance drifts away from the Galdrian Empire's iron grip. The Galdrian Empire is ailing, but in its thrashing will attempt to restore its former glory. The world remains devastated from the catastrophe of the Great Scourge, and the new powers compete for dominance on the global stage.

Has Algaro recovered from the scars of the Great Scourge? Or will these new powers squabble in the wake of opportunity?
